Coaching Staff
Molly Marrin is in her ninth season as the head women's basketball coach at Regis University for the 2023-2024 year and her 21st season overall at the collegiate level. Marrin officially began her duties on April 20, 2015 and currently boasts a career record of 130-94 (.580).
Regis, picked No. 7 in the RMAC preseason coaches poll, put together a historic season in 2022-23 as the program swept the RMAC regular season and tournament championships for the first time since 2006-07, and made a return trip to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016-17. Junior guard Erin Fry would earn RMAC Player of the Year, RMAC Tournament MVP, First Team All-Region and All-American Honorable Mention leading a Rangers squad that ranked top-5 in school history in scoring, set the program record for total rebounds in a season (1,341) and also ranked top-5 in lowest opponent field goal percentage (.391). Marrin was recognized at the South Central Regional Coach of the year and a WBCA National Coach of the Year Finalist.
Marrin became just the third coach in Regis women's basketball history to join the 100-win club during the 2021-22 season, earning her 100th victory with a 68-58 road win over Fort Lewis College.
In the 2020-21 season, Marrin helped the senior led and young talented team to wins over top conference opponents. Marrin led the team to wins over Colorado Mesa and Westminster College.
In the 2018-19 season, Coach Marrin led the Rangers to a 16-13 record, finishing in a tie for fourth place in the RMAC while playing one of the most difficult schedules in Division II. Marrin led the Rangers to an impressive 28 point win in the 1st Round of the RMAC conference tournament.
In 2016-17, Marrin led the Rangers to an overall record of 23-8, which marked the most wins since 2006-07. Marrin also guided Regis to its sixth NCAA Tournament appearance, first in nine years.
The Rangers finished fourth in the conference with a record of 16-6. Qualifying for the RMAC Tournament five years in a row, RU defeated Fort Lewis at home 71-61 in the first round and went on to upset No. 1-seeded CSU-Pueblo on their home court 77-71 to advance to the Shootout Final. Regis ran out of steam in the final falling 53-37 to UCCS. Five players were recognized to an All-RMAC team as Majestie Robinson nabbed First Team distinction.
In her first year, Marrin led the team to their fourth straight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament appearance in her first season at the helm in 2015-16. The Rangers finished 18-11 overall and 16-6 in the RMAC. Marrin had the privilege of coaching an All-RMAC First Team performer in Bay'lee Purdy. Purdy jumped into the all-time scoring ranks and now sits in seventh with 1,257 career points.
Marrin graduated from Regis in 2003 with a degree in communications. She was a four year letterwinner for the Rangers, earning First Team All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) honors and was twice named to the RMAC All-Tournament Team. She was also names Regis University's Female Student-Athlete of the Year.
A native of Dallas, Marrin has spent her collegiate coaching career creating multiple recruiting strategies while working to develop student-athletes on and off the court.
Marrin’s first coaching experience came at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in Greeley, Colorado. From there she also served as recruiting coordinator/ assistant coach at Wright State (OH), North Dakota State (ND), University of San Francisco (CA) and the University of Denver (CO).
